TRDC Conventions

TRDC Conventions are a great opportunity for dancers to learn additional skills and choreography, to be challenged in fresh ways, and to meet new friends in a low-pressure, non-competitive environment. There are no scores or adjudications, just instructors dedicated to teaching, enriching and encouraging dancers of all levels.

Classes are taught by professional dancers/educators, who bring their creativity and passion to the dance floor. All dancers have the opportunity to meet and greet the instructors and participate in a Q&A with these talented professionals.

Dancers are divided according to age, with a shorter day provided to dancers ages 8 and under. The youngest group of dancers receives 3 classes in a mix of genres, while dancers aged 9 and older will receive 5-6 classes in varying genres.

All dancers have the opportunity to participate in a “mock audition” with a talent agency representative, learning a brief dance combination and then performing in small groups. The talent agent will also discuss the business of dance, explain how professional auditions are conducted, and may even choose dancers for special opportunities with TRDC!

Dancers are recognized for their hard work throughout the event, and may win free merchandise, free entries for improv and photogenic challenges at upcoming regional events, and other great prizes.
